Honest Horse: Everything Still Reminds Me Of You

Honest Horse Is Back with a Catchy Breakup Jam

Honest Horse just released his first song of 2025, “Everything Still Reminds Me Of You.” The song is a synth-heavy, breakup track that makes heartbreak feel danceable. It’s full of energy, but the lyrics speak of the pain of not being able to move on.

Ryan Murphy, the person behind the Honest Horse project, has been making music on his own for almost 15 years. Before that, he was a zookeeper. These days, he’s mixing his old rock sound with electronic elements, calling it his “mid-life music identity crisis”—but honestly, it sounds like he’s right where he’s supposed to be.

“Everything Still Reminds Me Of You” tells the story of being stuck in your feelings for someone who didn’t treat you right. “[The song] is about the frustrating feelings that come with getting over someone that wasn't right for you when there was a time you would have moved mountains for them. All of that effort and serotonin you put into the feelings you had for that person attaches them to so many things beyond the relationship itself, and it can be hard to move on when you get those constant reminders everywhere you look.” The lyrics are real and relatable, with lines like “Ready to give you my whole world / But you couldn’t give me a single afternoon” showing just how one-sided things were.

The eclipse-themed cover art ties back to his last EP, Up In The Air, and marks the end of that chapter. It’s a full-circle moment—and a sign of the evolution of Honest Horse’s music .
